my poor munchkin!!

Avery update…

So my little guy had a tough night…

When we went to bed around 10pm we checked on him and his fever was pretty high still even though we’d given him some Tylenol around 9:40. So we ended up giving him a bath to cool him down and I got ready to spend the night in his bed with him.

He was up @ 1am and had another dose of Gravol. I think that was also the time he threw up again a bit. Although it could also have been @ 3am when he was up again. He needed another dose of Tylenol cold but he wouldn’t take it! (it’s the liquid stuff). We tried to get some in there but mostly ended up with it all over our hands and clothes and basically everywhere except in his mouth.

I was up with him again around 5am and his fever was up to 40.4!! I decided he really needed some Tylenol in his system so went for Harmony’s chewables. They don’t have the “cold” part of the Tylenol cold we were giving him but since they were chewables he took them. About 20 mins later, his fever was down, but still up around 39.6. So it was time for another bath. After that his fever was down to 38.2 so much better. We went back to sleep.

And slept ’til 8:30am. Now his temp is only 37.4, phew! I still gave him another dose of Gravol and of Tylenol (he didn’t freak out too much on me trying to give him the cold stuff but said “I don’t like that!!” after). I’m hoping we’re over the worst of it and he’ll be OK from here on in.
