webby work – where to go from here?

So as much as I was glad to have to have all my online projects to keep my mind active while my body was out of commission after the car accident (and to keep me from feeling completely useless!), I obviously won’t be able to keep up with them the same way now I’m a FT WOHM again.

So… where to go from here?

YM: I’m thinking of registering it as a charity instead of as a non-profit org. We’d looked into the non-profit org thing a few years back, but I’m thinking the charity thing might be simpler. We may actually come close to covering our operating costs this year (which has never happened before!), so maybe we can start saving for the 10-year anniversary convention next summer!

Other sites: These will unfortunately have to be placed on the back burner for a while. I will pop in once in a while to approve the ads (and maybe eventually get a first paycheque so I can believe it’s going to work?!), maybe try to send the occasional newsletter or pop out a blinkie or two, but I just can’t have the same expectations. Which is a shame, because the new .com I bought this summer was getting all set up and we had some great ideas for it, but hopefully it’ll keep. Maybe I’ll get a second wind of motivational creativity for it.

Graphics/web design: I’ll add pics of my last contract work to my Portfolio, and keep my KStar site active, maybe touch it up a bit, etc. but won’t be actively seeking out new clients. If a contract comes my way, well hopefully I’ll be in a position to take it and work on it on evenings and weekends, but I’ll wait to see what my workload will be once September rolls around!

I had big dreams of being a full-time WAHM, about working on my laptop in my PJs! But hey, this is what works for now, and I’ll keep doing what I love in-and-around doing what I need to do, and following my passions and inspirations when I can!

baby Eve!

We’ve known Kat & Kurt since grades 9 and 7 and were so excited to find out they were expecting their first!!! Their little girl was born on August 11th, and her name is Eve Marie. Kat’s original birth announcement and pics are here but now we’ve met baby Eve and have a few pics of our own!

She is such a little sweetheart and soooo tiny and cute! I just can’t fathom how my two were ever that little but she is just so small. She mostly slept while we visited, but we did get to see a few peeks of her dark blue eyes.

One diaper shirt says “rock star” and the other says “my mommy rocks”.

And I have to say, Kat is looking great! and things are going so well with breastfeeding and everything, what a relief! Life with a new baby is a huge adjustment no matter what challenges get thrown in your direction, so it’s nice to have most things running smoothly (so you can cope with the sleep deprivation without say, breastfeeding troubles on top of that).
