Yay, we knew this day was coming soon! For a year or so, Avery’s been able to write the “A” for his name. Since school started, he has been taking an interest in the other letters. Often he will sign “AV” and ask you to finish the rest. But yesterday he brought home a project from school that had his whole name on the back!!!
Also, have I mentioned it’s Harmony week with her soccer trophy? Her team won 1st place in this summer’s league for the 10-year-old girls group! 
P.S. She has been growing out her bangs and it’s driving me nuts. Should I let her keep going or cut them off again??? I told her she could keep growing them out if she wore headbands and clips and she’s just not keeping up her end of the bargain!

Whoo! Go Avery & Harmony!
As for Harmony’s hair, it’s just at that “can’t pull it back, can’t leave it down” stage that’s so annoying. If you leave it a bit, it’ll grow out, but it’ll seem to take forever. (This from the gal who’s grown out bangs and bad haircuts a number of times.) Actually, I think she looks kind of cute with long bangs, but hey, my haircut has layers that look similar, so I may be biased. That’s an option, you could have the front of her hair cut into gradual layers so it looks like the bangs are intentional.

@ Kat – thanks, I knew it would take a long time but I had hoped she would clip it a bit more instead of letting it hang in her face. Sometimes it’s cute, like just looks like side bangs, but sometimes she pushes it all forwards and I feel like she’s *trying* to look like an insolent teen!! lol
I think we’ll keep at it since we’ve come this far!!

You could always put out all those lovely clippy things they use, or the little barrettes that drive me nuts cuz they never stay in my hair! Get her to try the layers of those, it looks so kewl when done right. My daughter has the knack of it… me not quite so LOL
Personally I love my bangs
and am keeping them LOL
