proud mom to a #-year-old blinkies
February 3rd, 2009 -- Posted in blinkies & other cuteness, pics | Comments OffMy sense of motivation is so wonky and unpredictable… I can spend hours and hours on projects if I get excited about them, but if I don’t feel like getting something done (like, oh I don’t know, the blog entries I have in my head that I need to actually hammer out the words to…), I can find every reason to procrastinate.
Yesterday was a “blinkie” day. You’d think there was an upper limit to how much time you could spend staring at those little flashing lights, but no, there doesn’t seem to be. I think I put in about 5 hours total on those projects. Eek.
Most of the blinkies I made were requests, but I also did a new batch of “proud mommy to a 1-year-old, 2-year-old, etc.” ones…
I’ve come up with a new “style” of outline… when I started learning the basics of blinkie & siggie-making, the white stroke around the edges seemed to be the classic way to emphasize your letters. But I’m a little tired of it and have discovered a more subtle effect that works really well and makes a more transluscent border around the writing.
I discovered that technique while making a mini-siggie pic for my bio on BlinkieMommies…

It’s times like these that I’m all jazzed up about a project that I feel like this could really go somewhere… hopefully not just wishful thinking!
OK, webby-girl out…
EDIT: All blinkies are now hosted on KStarDesign.com!
