Since this seems to be a life sentence of sorts…
March 6th, 2009 -- Posted in family, hill to haven, pain / disability, painkillers, people suck, work/career | Comments OffYou know, there’s a difference between what we’re willing to “put up with” on a short-term basis and what we’re willing to accept as the status quo.
For example, I’ve patiently suffered through this amount of pain for over a year. And I respected the fact that my doctors didn’t want to completely load me up on painkillers (that’s what I did the first 3 months or so and I barely remember them!).
But now that I’ve been given the impression more and more that this might be what I have to deal with from now on, that patience is waning. When there’s an end in sight, you can push a little. Like the end of a race when you’re running full-steam. You know it’s temporary.
This doesn’t seem to be temporary. There’s hope I might *improve* and manage my pain better, etc. but now that my pain receptors are all FUBAR-ed, I may have to cope with this for the rest of my life.
Cue the ranting and bitching and “It’s no fair!”-ing… skip if you’re sick of it… ![]()
