trim inspection

Today, Paul and I went for our scheduled Trim Inspection at the new house! We had to wear hardhats and everything LOL (we look kinda dorky so the pic of two of us in front of the house won’t be widely distributed).

Although everything was still covered in a good layer of construction dust and some things weren’t yet finished, it was a good chance to see our colours in action (and together, and on a grand scale).

I’m really really pleased at how the 2 upstairs bathrooms turned out, and I am glad the kitchen linoleum matches so well with the ceramic that it bumps up against when it reaches the laundry/mud room and powder room.

I’m hesitant about the front hall tile and the kitchen cupboards, but I’ll wait until things are finished and give it a chance. The hallway banister hasn’t gotten its 2nd coat of stain, so perhaps when it does, the tile won’t look so dark. And I’m hoping the special backsplash we picked out and designed will help tie the kitchen cupboards into the whole “look” of the kitchen.

Countdown: 5 weeks until we get the keys, and just 4 weeks until our pre-delivery inspection! 3 months and 4 days until moving day!

Next steps: Book truck, finish designing “Change of Address” announcement cards, and keep on packing!

new website!

Well, I’m finally launching the website that I started last July… with much less fanfare than planned. See, I’d been trying with my hubby to work on creating new tickers, but the technical details turned out to be over our heads.

So I’m launching the site instead as just a spot for message boards and non-blinkie graphic art. And moving a couple of the groups I host (for moms of angels) to that board as well to help get it started.

If you are or know any moms who are dreaming about working from home, about a new house, about a new baby, about finding love, or about a dream wedding, please send them this way!

Christmas Scrapbooking Layouts

I finally finished scrapbooking the 4 layouts of Christmas 2008 photos. I find I’m really slowing down on the scrapbooking and working more on cards and stamping, but I still want to keep up with my albums and showcase my favourite photos that way.
