Hand-stamped card: baby boy

You know you’re a veteran card-maker when your spouse lets you know about upcoming events and commissions a card to be made! ;) This was definitely a request I was happy to oblige…

Cardstock: Bashfull Blue, Certainly Celery, vellum. Ink & Brads: Gable Green. Ribbon: unknown (from my “stash”). Rub-on: Chit Chat (Stampin’ Up). Punches: Circle & Scallop (SU), feet and hands (Fiskars).

See, who needs cards from the store when you’ve got everything you need to make pretty ones at home? ;) Although I admire that store-bought cards are trying to emulate some of the home-made look, it’s just not the same.

Plans are in the works for my holiday cards. Last year I made over 70 Christmas cards (of several different patterns) by hand. Phew! I think this year I’d better try to cut back a little and maybe only make a dozen or two and try to stick to one pattern. I will have a little fun with embossing powder and glitter though. ;) And I’ll be ordering a new “sparkle” die-cut as well to add a nice 3D accent to the front.

oh that reminds me…

Good news: Some of Stampin’ Up’s new products created to go along with their recently launched Big Shot die-cutting system *do* fit in the Cuttlebug. I have already tried it out with a new embossing folder and it works just fine with no extra cutting mats or spacer plates needed. It looks like the little die-cuts work as well and I’ll be testing that out soon.

that’s all for today… stay tuned for a new scrapbook layout coming soon to a blog near you (um… this one, that is) & happy stampin’ and scrappin’!

Dare I ask who’s expecting, or is it still a secret?

lol it’s not anyone you know – one of Paul’s coworkers is due next month so there was a baby shower at the office this week. :)

I think 4 GHS babies within one year is tons especially since all 4 couples are comprised of spouses who *both* went to ghs!! freaky eh? ;)
