pink penguins

I was totally on a penguin kick this year for all the winter birthdays… you’ve already seen my 2 plum penguins birthday cards, so now time to take a peek at my two pink penguin birthday cards…

Cardstock: Pink Pirouette (NLA), Riding Hood Red (NLA), Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, and white.
Ink: Basic Black for penguin, with Riding Hood Red (NLA) for scarf.
Embellishments: silver brads, chocolate brown ribbon, dry embossed swirl pattern
Stamps: penguin from Punch Pals, flowers from “A Beautiful Thing”.
Punches: scallop circle, scallop edge, 1 & 3/4″ circle
Techniques: paper piercing, inked edges, embossing (using embossing folder)

I find I really like making a couple cards at the same time (with the same theme) because then I can mix and match little pieces to coordinate really well. For example, with these cards, I used the pink and red cardstock papers for different parts of the cards. Then you get to start by creating one design, but your end result is 2 (or more) cards that coordinate but aren’t exactly alike. :)

Believe it or not, I actually have 2 last penguin birthday cards to show you so stay tuned for those, and for other craft projects! :)
