blog news: a new name
It’s time for a new name to reflect this blog’s changed identity. It has grown into something different than it originally started out as, so now it will have a new title to go along with that! I’m excited to introduce you to… the “Creating Kris” blog, where a young mom shares her creative projects: scrapbooking, stamped cards, home decor, free blinkies, etc.!

What I like the most about the new name is it’s dual meaning… Not only am I a Kris who creates, I’m a Kris who is being created. I grow and learn and discover, and my friends (online and off!) are part of that process.
Wondering why the change? I’ll explain…
So I have been feeling for a little while that “This is Kris” no longer accurately describes this blog… Since I have needed to put away some of the more personal entries in favour of just the lighter topics (paper-crafting, webby art, and decorating), I feel it doesn’t represents me… well at least not all of me.
Although sharing my creative projects with the world still lets a lot of my personality shine through and posting about some areas of my life does involve letting readers in on the reality of my painful existence a bit, I have been increasingly shifting the focus away from writing about many of the “core” issues I’m going through (disability, chronic pain, financial difficulties… etc!).
I hope you have found there is some enjoyment to seeing the creative areas of my life though! And I do find it’s helpful to post about the things that I am still able to do sometimes and am thankful for… Even though I am not able to get out as often to scrapbook and make cards with my friends or at crops, I do enjoy when I’m able to get in some scrapbooking or card-making at all. Making something beautiful will hopefully always be something that’s available to me!
I set out a while back to make my blog public as a way to help other women going through the same life difficulties as I had been through (especially post-partum depression and PPOCD). Nowadays, I’m shifting the focus to helping other women become inspired to create and to grow their artsy sides, and I think that’s also very important! A nurtured mom/woman is a happier mom/woman!!!
I hope that over the next little while, readers will have fun checking out my projects, getting the news about blinkie freebies, and learning about how to create attractive cards and scrapbook layouts. I welcome comments and feedback (if you’re a regular visitor to the Scrappy/Stampy Gallery, please stop in here at the blog sometimes too!) and am looking forward to sharing more fun designs with you!
