Although I started trying digital scrapbooking a few years ago, I had never tried creating a kit of my own papers and embellishments… until this year! And I’m so glad I finally gave it a try because I like the end result!
If you like the digital elements used in my December 2009 layout, guess what? I made it myself!
And of course I’m offering it up as a free kit for others to use for digital layouts if they would like! I definitely recommend giving digi-scrapping a try. I have done several layouts over the year that were worthy of printing out and adding right alongside regular layouts in my family albums. If you do end up giving this kit a try, please post a link to your layout; I’d love to see it!
The Iced Chocolate kit includes:
- 7 papers
- 8 brads (4 big, 4 small)
- 4 flowers
- 3 journal boxes (one double-matted with flower & brad)

Click on this link to download the whole kit: Download Iced Chocolate DigiScrap Kit
I do hope to have the whole digital kit available for download on my graphic design site, KStarDesign (Visit this page to read my standard Terms of Use), but for now this freebie is exclusive to the “Creating Kris” blog readers, so enjoy!

Since my “Back to School” blinkies were pretty late this year (only created last week), I also made sure to include some blinkies in the collection that can be used year-round. There’s “proud mommy to a __ grader” from Kindergarten up to Grade 8.

You can check out the whole set here: Back to School Big Blinkies.

The winner of the 3rd place prize is…. #6! Amanda W, who chose Chocolate Raspberry as her fave colour palette!
She will get a coupon for $5 off her own baby birth plaque (or image).
The winner of the 2nd place prize is… #7! Kat (owntwohands), who chose Fresh Citrus (or variation of!) as her fave! She has won a birth image which will be personalized with her baby’s info!
And the grand prize winner, who will receive a free baby birth plaque is…. #11! Somer, who also chose Chocolate Raspberry as her favourite, as her daughter’s room is pink and brown!!!
She has won a free mounted plaque, with the customized design image with her daughter’s birth info, including free shipping!
I’ll be getting in touch with the winners to e-mail me with the birth information of the babies that their plaques will be for. Please send me the baby’s name, birth date, birth time (if you like), weight and length, and birth place (or hospital, or whatever else you would rather include on the last line).
Thanks to everyone who entered, and thanks for helping launch my new line of unique baby gifts
Thanks also to my 2 kiddos, who helped pick the winning numbers!
Since I like to on a policy of “there are no losers, only 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc. winners”, I will be offering all the other entrants of the contest a coupon for $2 an order of a baby birth plaque!
To use a coupon, please be sure you e-mail me directly (at my KStar address) to arrange your order instead of using the shopping cart on the site. You can check out colour palettes there though, and also soon there will be photos available of the finished product (with baby info blurred out of course). I’ll be creating one for my son this weekend as well as one for the top winner, so if you’d like to get your order in, it’s a great time for that!
