success!

December 28th, 2008 -- Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off

OK my Wordpress is now upgraded to 2.7! :) The dashboard is very very cool! And I did it all by myself and didn’t even need to call in the hubby for help. And in the process of doing this, I had to back up my blog so now I know how to do that. :)

And I was able to find Nina’s comment that I accidentally deleted because it was in a huge pile of spam.

And I deleted even more piles of spam. It’s like, “no, just because I’m talking about Prozac doesn’t mean I would like you to spam people with places to buy Prozac online!”

maybe I’ll have to start discussing my medications in code.

OR maybe the new version of Wordpress has better spam-blocking abilities!

oh and in searching through the comments, I have more readers than I thought. So hi! & thanks for reading! :)

House design

So last weekend, we went to go take a look at our lot (they excavated!) and we also stopped by the model home of the Westminster. This week, Paul and I visited Minto’s Design Centre to start thinking about our colours. We have a lot of choices to make, and the deadline will be our Dec appointment with our designer.

We need to pick cupboards for the kitchen, main bathroom, and ensuite. Then floor for those 3 rooms (ceramic bathrooms, vinyl kitchen floor), tile for those rooms, and countertops for those rooms. For the carpet, we need to pick a colour (and/or upgrade to a nicer carpet). For the living/dinning room, we are hoping to go with hardwood, but we need to pick a stain.

I’m especially keen on getting all the right colours picked out for the kitchen. It’s a really important room in the house, and unlike bathrooms, the accessories don’t feature as prominently, it’s really all about the chosen surfaces.
