I keep coming back to favourite colours* and embellishments again and again…
These birthday cards I created feature Chocolate Chip card stock – this is one colour I hope Stampin’ Up *never* retires because it’s simply delicious. The card front is then layered with some fresh greens and purples, with a darker purple oval that I think really makes the Birthday greeting “pop”.
Lots of embellishments on these ones: white rub-ons, rhinestones, embossed background, paper piercing in an oval (with a similar stamped “pierced” circle echoed nearby), inked edges, glittery chipboard flowers, and a beautiful satiny ribbon.

Happy Stamping!
And if you’re looking for holiday greeting cards, don’t forget to swing by my Card Store!

This blog post may seem a little late, but the last of our teacher cards were only delivered this month, so I’d say it seems about even!
My son’s cards went out to his teachers on time (at the end of June), but my daughter, who was greatly opposed to the idea of appreciation cards or gifts (apparently this is just “not done” at the middle school level), left them in her bag where they suffered water damage at an end-of-the-year pool party…
They were then found later in the summer, rescued from the enveloppes (which had to be tossed), repackaged, and given directly to the office at the beginning of the new school year. I had compromised by not adding gift cards to the coffee stores inside but this year I may be less inclined to agree to any plans proposed by such an unreliable letter-carrier.
Thankfully, these pics of the cards were taken before the water damage…

Even though I personally did not have a reason at the time to create a couple of sympathy cards (the members of our extended family have been relatively healthy lately, knock wood!), I couldn’t resist trying out the new “Thoughts & Prayers” stamp set I ordered this summer…

I find the tree stamp is just stunning and have incorporated it into other projects as well.
Little details…

Materials & Techniques:
Cardstock: mostly Stampin’ Up in Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Blush Bride, velum, and white.
Inks: Chocolate Chip, Pink Passion.
Stamp Sets: Thoughts & Prayers, Art by Design (brackets).
Embellishments: Felt flowers, buttons, beads, glitter, top clear cover from SU’s “Build-a-Brad” Kit, jumbo brad in Whisper White, So Saffron ribbon from the Fairy Tales set (SU).
Methods: Inked edges, paper piercing, matted cards, flowers with buttons and beads as centers. For the center of the jumbo brad, I added some glue to the cardstock underneath, then sprinkled some glitter into the hole and then placed a clear brad cover on top (like a marble sticker).
As of right now, both cards are still available for sale, so please feel free to visit my Card Store to order them if you are interested (or just e-mail me or comment).
