I’ve started sending out our change of address cards!
I’ve been planning these and working on them for months now, so it feels a little bittersweet to be letting them go into the mail… Canada Post, you’d better take good care of my babies!!

Each card is slightly different as I had choices of ribbon and paper (and double-sided paper to boot). The main colour scheme is the Stampin’ Up “Washington Apple” set plus I added Chocolate Chip as well (cardstock, ink, and ribbon).
I placed one very last (tiny) SU order last night and I think I may try to purposefully avoid the new catalogue launch next month… I’m sure there are so many pretty things I will see that I will want to have!
And we are on such a tight budget right now, I just can’t indulge in my usual crafty hobbies (and with no end in sight yet). Instead, I’ll be trying to use some of the scrapbooking supplies I have to create some cards and other things that I may try to sell on Ebay or something.
Keep an eye on your mailbox if you’re an IRL friend! I am only sending out very small batches as I finish them, but hopefully they will all be sent by the end of the month.

Since we’re already responsible for the health and well-being and emotional development of two little individual human beings, you’d think signing a paper at the bank wouldn’t be so nerve-wracking an experience. We’ve already signed marriage certificates and birth certificates, and those are pretty much life-long commitments (yes your kids may move out, but you’re always a parent).
But having enjoyed the freedom of having student loans paid off and being debt-free (for a short while anyways), it does seem a little scary to promise to pay back such a huge amount of money (which will take such a large chunk of our lifetime to do!). Thinking about this kind of stuff has me halfway between feeling accomplished and wanting to run and scream that I want no part in this “adult stuff”.

Yay, our house has brick!

I find this has made a huge change to how the house looks – it’s really starting to come together now.
More and more, I’m thinking about moving and packing. When I moved here from my apartment, I pretty much packed at the last minute and felt rushed and stressed, so this time I’m starting early. Especially since I’m so slow!
I think in a way, it also helps to see a few little empty spots around the house, here and there, you know? It’s a reminder that it’s time to say good-bye to this place and prepare for new adventures.

As far as finances go, I’m still worried.
Our plan all along had been to move at the end of June so that the kids could finish up their school year here in Beacon Hill, but now I’m not sure if that’s as financially feasible now (aside from the fact it leaves me climbing extra stairs for 2 months). Even if we sell our washer and dryer in exchange for one month’s rent at this house, that still leaves us with a month of rent + mortgage overlap and I don’t see how we can manage that while also trying to buy new appliances and other things we might need for the house!
