These were a really fun project to do…
For my first card order of the year, a friend commissioned a birthday card in blues, browns and greens. Suitable for a male in his 20s… oh a by the way, it’s being sent to a celebrity rock star, no pressure.

She only needed one card but I ended up making two (I often do make more than one at a time, often in pairs since that’s the way an 8 & 1/2 x 11″ page of cardstock evenly divides!). Then she had the choice of which one to opt for. She ended up choosing the guitar, so the star card will be added to my KStar Card Store…

The first weekend in June, we went to a big photo session with all of my cousins (and the 3 little offsping-of-the-cousins, which is just my 2 and my cousin Mel’s little girl). It was really cool to see the whole group in white shirts and blue jeans.
After the shoot, we took a few little pics of our own since we were all dressed alike (and Paul happened to be wearing a white T-shirt, which isn’t that odd as he often does underneath whatever button shirt he chose for that day).
After this, we stopped by a local park to take advantage of the sunshine and get some outdoor portraits as well. Then we continued on our way with our plans to attend the kids’ current school’s Fun Fair. I’m pretty sure we’ve been there each year since Harmony’s first year at the school in Senior Kindergarten! Maybe next year we will stop by anyways to see some familiar faces and say “hi” to the old neighbourhood.

Today, Paul and I went for our scheduled Trim Inspection at the new house! We had to wear hardhats and everything LOL (we look kinda dorky so the pic of two of us in front of the house won’t be widely distributed).
Although everything was still covered in a good layer of construction dust and some things weren’t yet finished, it was a good chance to see our colours in action (and together, and on a grand scale).
I’m really really pleased at how the 2 upstairs bathrooms turned out, and I am glad the kitchen linoleum matches so well with the ceramic that it bumps up against when it reaches the laundry/mud room and powder room.
I’m hesitant about the front hall tile and the kitchen cupboards, but I’ll wait until things are finished and give it a chance. The hallway banister hasn’t gotten its 2nd coat of stain, so perhaps when it does, the tile won’t look so dark. And I’m hoping the special backsplash we picked out and designed will help tie the kitchen cupboards into the whole “look” of the kitchen.
Countdown: 5 weeks until we get the keys, and just 4 weeks until our pre-delivery inspection! 3 months and 4 days until moving day!
Pics: The kitchen sink, the kids bathroom (colours by Harmony!), & the tub I am extreeeeeemely eager to soak in…

Rest of the pics can be found in the Family Photo Gallery in this folder.
Next steps: Book truck, finish designing “Change of Address” announcement cards, and keep on packing!
