My stash has multiplied considerable… But I totally couldn’t help it! I went to my very first local yarn store “tent sale” and the prices were just phenomenal!! And I think it was a great way to celebrate my approximate one-year “anniversary” of learning how to knit!

I even had to buy a new storage bin to accomodate all these balls of yarn. Brings back memories of helping my grand-mother with her stash – tucked in her basement in big rubber totes. Wish I’d started this hobby before she started all of her moving so that I could have inherited her tools and supplies! Oh well, I guess I am the type of person who likes to slowly build a complete tool kit anyways. And the shopping is a part of the fun of a new hobby!

I hope everyone is enjoying a nice Easter weekend with their families!

I’m having a quiet day today (and a quiet Easter in general) but still enjoying some happy little moments sprinkled throughout. My hubby took me shopping yesterday and I had a great trip out (and not just because my “30% off everything” coupon helped me spend only $5)! It’s not often I get out and it was the first time trying out a shopping trip bringing my electric wheelchair along, and it was just so amazingly freeing to be able to zip around and look at everything without first having to evaluate the “cost” (in pain) of trying to get to certain areas of the store. I know it was a lot of work (too much, really) for my DH and it won’t be a regular thing, but I appreciate so much that he took the time and effort to help me have such a good experience. So I would have to say that was my second-favourite highlight of the weekend, the first being my son’s expressions this morning! He was so excited to find all the eggs and was just so joyful and pure in his mood… you can’t help but feel so loving and proud as the mom of such a fantastic kid.
I didn’t get a full “batch” of new blinkies created for Easter this year as I had in 2008 and 2009, but I did create a bunch of new 150×20 blinkies to add to the few Easter blinkies already available in that size…

You can find the codes for these blinkies and lots more on this page and you can also find a good summary list of all available Spring- and Easter-themed blinkies (all sizes) in this copy of the KStarDesign newsletter.

* Stuck in bed all day yesterday but got my online Christmas shopping done – was able to get free shipping for Sears, ToysRUs, & Amazon, but will have to pick up a toy at Zellers somehow.
* My white pen ran out of ink last week. This is a problem with my nice dark cardstock Christmas cards, of which I have about 10 left to send. I’d rather wait for the new white one I ordered than use up all my silver, which is also not as good a match.
* I love my new kitchen-to-be. OMG. We did something really custom/funky/original with the tiles and it will be absolutely fabulous. Picked everything out Sunday – here are pics, but I’m keeping the special added touch a surprise!
* I love my hubby. Even more than my new kitchen-to-be. Yes, really. I have a big crush on him. He doesn’t have shiny countertops or stainless steel cupboard handles, but he can cook and clean while fending off toddler and pre-teen tantrums, and still have time for new home dreams and kisses.
* Finally heard from the Senator’s office, and in order to pay me they had to send me papers that I had to sign and send back. On said papers, I’ve been officially downgraded from FT permanent employee to “contractor”. And they short-changed me 8 cents an hour for some bizarre reason. I don’t care as long as I get my $ asap.
* Jo-Ann is in town. I don’t even know where to start. I think I need one more psych degree to even begin to understand her behaviour. And to figure out what on earth she does with Avery that makes him act like a complete lunatic-with-destructive-tendencies when he comes back to us!
* Games are stupid. (to me. at this moment in time.) I finally beat W Jongg, but Hexic is driving me nuts. I don’t even enjoy it that much, I just want to win the damn thing.
* we got a Christmas card addressed to “Mr. & Mrs. Paul LastName”. Which is *my* last name, that he took on when we got married. Because we’re not a freakin’ traditional couple so why would you send us a card that’s addressed like it came from the 1950s???
OK, that’s about all I can manage today, my attention span and concentration are ridiculously off-kilter.
